Eating & Drinking

There are literally hundreds of places to eat and drink within minutes of the home. These cater for all tastes including American, Chinese, Indian, Italian and Fast Food. Most restaurants do a wide range of foods so, just because it's a chinese, does not mean it does not do steaks. Virtually every restaurant is child friendly, and I mean child friendly. There are virtually no restrictions on children in any restaurant and most do specialist menus with colouring items or games for the children. Dress is limited to "shirt and shoes" minimum but otherwise it's what you feel comfortable in. In fact the only dress rule in most restaurants is No Naked People ! Americans are funny like that.

Tips for eating out in Florida

- Children are mainly not allowed to sit at the bar but otherwise are very welcome
- Check your bill carefully as a lot of restaurants add a "gratuity" onto the bill and then offer a place for a tip as well. The gratuity IS A TIP and is usually 18% of the total. Don't be shy to ask for it to be removed if you are not happy with the service (which will be very rare).
- Portions are very big. Most places will allow you to share a main meal at no extra cost.
- Alcohol is expensive if it's not draft American beer, which is always ice cold and actually very good. Wine is very expensive at $7 - $9 per small glass. If there is enough of you, go for a bottle.
- Cheese is on virtually everything, and I mean everything. If you don't like cheese then always ask as it will be on the strangest things.
If you don't like sauces all over your food just ask for everything "on the side".
- In America you can generally have whatever you want, regardless of what's on the menu. Just ask and most places will do it for you.

Recommended Places to Eat

Breakfast

- Sizzler all you can eat buffet. There is everything you could want, and as much as you want here.
- I-Hop (International House of Pancakes). Pancakes and more, more, more...
- Perkins. Great selection served at your table. Ham and Eggs with pancakes, Yum!

Lunch
Grab something. Everywhere you go will serve food which is "good to go".

Dinner

- Carrabas Italian. Great Italian and American food. Great Value. Restaurant is quite small and is always busy. Best to book first. Happy hour is until 7.00pm every day with all drinks 2 for 1. The warm bread with every meal is just to die for. Go up the US 192, head west and it's 1/2 mile on your left.
- Cattleman's Steak House. The steaks are the best in Central Florida. Be aware, everything is charged for seperately so beware of the cost when ordering. Go for the salad bar as it's plenty for all to share. One on I Drive and one off east US192.
- Houlihan's. Great for a drink, snack or meal. Loads of choice including steaks, chicken, pizza, pasta and salads. West on US192 for 2 miles and it's on your left.
- Celebration Town Tavern. This is a great seafood and steak restaurant where the lobster's are on display in the entrance. Inside, and harbor side, dining is available. Celebration is Central Florida's best kept secret so sssshhhh!! don't tell anyone. Go to US 192, East for 3 miles and follow the signs.
